Kokanee Salmon
Lake Chelan is located in Chelan County, Washington. It is the largest natural lake in the State and is over 50 miles long. It’s also the third deepest lake in the United States. The cold clear water makes Lake Chelan a top destination for fishing!
I run trips for Lake Chelan Kokanee. These are a great time. The lake has a endless supply of nice bright Kokanee. The Kokanee cut like there sea run cousins Sockeye, and the fish move down in to the lower basin as the weather warms. Lake Chelan Kokanee can be fished year around. We target them March through June. Trolling Kokanee gear is the best way to target them, and we use wedding rings, macks, smile blades, spinners, and Kokanee cutplugs. Lake Chelan kokanee fishing can be fast and furious. Some days the hardest part is keeping the rods in the water.
LAND LOCK CHINOOK
While we are trolling for Kokanee on Lake Chelan you also have a chance at a King Salmon. Land-locked Kings look and fight just like they are in the ocean. They range in size from jacks up to 14 pounds. This is a very exciting fight on a ultra-light Kokanee rod.
LAKE CHELAN LIMITS
KOKANEE 10 PER PERSON
CUTTHROAT 5 PER PERSON
CHINOOK 1 PER PERSON
LAKE TROUT NO LIMIT
These trips typically last 8 hours unless limits are reached or bad weather forces us off the lake. I will pick you up at a predetermined dock. Docks may change depending on which area we are fishing.
Cutthroat Trout
Once our Kokanee limit is reach we will switch up the gear and go target some cutthroat trout. Just as fun as the Kokanee!
